Vermicompost

The best fertilizer known to gardens is green, well more like black, but you get the idea.  Vermicompost is catching on in gardens as the best way to keep plants healthy, grow faster, and disease free.  A little know industry just a few years ago, the vermicompost system has made gardens much more healthy and is used on the biggest plants in the world.

Up until recently the powers of vermicompost were unknown to many.  Worm castings, a large part of the vermicompost culture, has been used to grow the same plants that are in today’s records.  The secret is out now and worm castings are a top seller for gardens.

Eco-tourism is growing right with the green movement. In places all over the world, solar powered hotels and bed in breakfast locations are popping up in some of the most breathtaking places of the world.

If you want something more adventurous, the Alps across Europe offers cross continent ski trips or in Iceland you can find a hot spring spa. These trips not only promote eco friendly ways to commute, but also ways to have fun while staying green. The best part of the trip might not be the action for some; it might come in the education along the way. Other resorts offer guides to lead you through some of the most untouched places of the world.

the alps ecotourismYou might be surprised at how inexpensive these trips can be. Due to the limited luxuries of a completely green trip, costs for hotels and travel can be very cheap. Transportation by rail is very inexpensive and is the transportation of choice by most green vacationers. Expect that most eco tourist locations will cost just as much as a traditional vacation without the cost to the environment.

There are many ways to save even more with eco travel. Look in your own area for parks or forests dedicated to the eco friendly lifestyle. Who knows, a locale near you may offer a completely green getaway at a lesser cost and a more convenient location.

No matter where you go enjoy the pride you’ll get from knowing your travels haven’t hurt the environment. You may learn a thing or two from eco friendly vacationing that you can use in your daily life back at home.
